My story

My name is Laurie Lassfolk, I am a young artist in the great developing world of ceramics. One day, after 10 years in merchandising, and after seeing too many reports on reconversion, I too wanted to find a new meaning to my life.

Self-taught artist, I created SAVI.
A small ceramic workshop to shape clay into unique pieces.

SAVI simply translates to clay from Finnish.
Living in France, but married to a Finn, I discovered this country and its culture through family trips to Finland.

The colors, textures and simplicity immediately touched me, and inspired my creations.
I love this country, the people and their values, the delicious food and the breathtaking landscapes.

ALVAR AALTO
Born in 1898 in Kuortane (Finland), Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto is the most famous Finnish architect, urban planner and designer and one of the pioneers of organic design.
Alvar Aalto draws inspiration from nature and abstraction to create these models using innovative techniques and natural materials.

The hair clip craze

Once I had cut my large pieces out of the soil, I always ended up with leftover soil on the edges, perfectly spread out, but ready to be put back into a ball.

So I decided to make them my little favorite piece, barrettes.

A collection immediately came together in my head with the superb enamels from the "Jungle Gems" range by the Mayco brand.
